Woodward Early Childhood Center is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 30 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, 30 helmets, 30 pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20" Bike for teacher instruction, and the curriculum.
Principal, Debbie Jones, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. Debbie says:" This program will impact our youngest students at the Early Childhood Center in many different ways. It supports our efforts to encourage healthy habits and practices for our students. It would enhance our health initiatives by helping to further muscle development and increase bone strength. The benefits of this type of exercise will also help to build their stamina and improve their cardiovascular development. Coordination and balance are such important developmental skills. Learning to ride provides the practices necessary to strengthen those skills. Students will also practice the traits of patience, time and persistence toward a goal. They will push forward toward success. The sense of achievement and increased confidence that they will experience the first time they truly cycle will be so exciting for them. That is the true satisfaction that comes with an accomplishment. And especially important, is the fact that this program provides the opportunity for ALL of our students to learn to ride."
