Truxton Academy Charter School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 21 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
PE Teacher, Mrs. Boyden, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. Mrs. Boyden says: "Biking is one of these skills I would love to incorporate to my program at Truxton Academy Charter School. Not only would this equipment get the students to begin to love biking, but it can be the gateway to being a cyclist as they continue to grow. Strider bikes will also help learn balance, coordination and confidence to move to a bigger bike when ready.
Our students will be walking laps around our school on October 6th for International Walk to School Day and will pledge that they will walk a certain number of laps in return for a monetary donation from family and friends to be put towards the crowd funding for the All Kids Bike Equipment.
Receiving the All Kids Bike Equipment will greatly impact the current and future students of Truxton Academy Charter School through promoting lifetime movement and the pure enjoyment of a sport. As well as teach the students a sense of community. The Physical Education program will grow immensely and hopefully stand out to families that would like to attend Truxton Academy that we strive to keep kids moving and learning."
All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
