Thomas B. Conley Elementary School is seeking support for a fleet of 18 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
Thomas B Conley Elementary School is an elementary school in Hunterdon County, NJ. I am always looking for new curriculum to be added to our Physical Education program and I think that your All Kids Bike Program would be a great asset to our school. Being located in Hunterdon county provides us with many opportunities for biking, not just at our school but within the community. Currently, I am working with GoHunterdon, a not-for-profit group that promotes sustainable transportation in Hunterdon County. They will be presenting a bicycle safety course this year for our students.
A couple of years ago, one of our Physical Education Teachers was approached by a mom of a 5th grader. The mother wanted this teacher to help her child learn how to ride a bicycle because he was embarrassed as a fifth grader that he never learned how to ride a bicycle. I remember how excited the child was along with his mother that he was finally able to ride a bicycle. I, myself, currently bike to school on many days and the students are always motivated to see me on my bicycle. I want to be able to pass along and share the enjoyment of riding a bicycle with my students, as I believe it has many lifelong health benefits. - Heather Radcliffe-McGinnis, PE Teacher
