Swimming Pen Creek Elementary School is seeking support for a fleet of 25 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.

The purpose of our request for Strider Balance Bikes for Swimming Pen Creek Elementary School is to develop student’s abilities to ride bicycles from an early age. We have a Pre-K unit that would use these daily during their recess time outside. They currently have one tricycle but some of the students are too big to use it. Having these bikes at school would increase the potential for students to ride bikes without training wheels at a much younger age. We also would be using these bikes during physical education class. We do an entire unit on pedestrian safety and bicycle safety. These would allow us to teach it in a practical way to students in the lower grades that do not know how to ride a bike. These could be used multiple times per year or even as a station for the students during other lessons. - Michelle Bravo, PE Teacher
