Frances Brock Starms Early Childhood Center is seeking support for a fleet of 25 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
Frances Brock Starms Early Childhood Center is a unique facility that caters specifically to our youngest students in K3, K4 and K5. Our highly qualified teachers and staff prepare lessons aligned to the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards that incorporate play, movement, song and pre-academics in a nurturing environment. At Starms, children acquire the lifelong habits of responsibility, creativity and problem-solving along with strong communication skills from a large, caring group of staff members. Children display their knowledge in a well-equipped, risk-free environment while guided by trained staff. The mission of Starms Early Childhood Center is to provide a quality early childhood education. Starms has a well-known history of consistently high achieving students and outstanding teachers. We are a Green and Healthy School and students learn the benefits of recycling, conservation and farm-to-table. Learning to ride a bike is a critical skill for children. Children of all abilities gain physical strength, improved cardiovascular health, and a new ability to explore and interact with the world around them. Children with special needs, in particular, benefit from an increased range of motion and better trunk control--skills that can provide a better overall quality of life by making it easier for children to bathe, dress themselves, and participate in school and home activities. - Ann Terrll, MPS Foundation Director All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
