Springwater Environmental Sciences School is seeking support for a fleet of 18 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
At Springwater Environment Sciences School, we enjoy hands on learning and outdoor activities. We are a K-8 school who plays outside daily rain or shine. Every other Friday we go out onto Metro's Clear Creek property to learn more about our surroundings. We believe in learning through our experiences. We would love to add biking into our curriculum to relieve the stress that school work puts on students and help them focus more in class. Biking can be used to achieve academic and social success. With biking, students can get more physical education. Biking can build student confidence in doing independent activities. We are working with Oregon Timber Trail to incorporate elements of their trail into our bike pump track design. We are using the donation to have our younger and inexperienced riders feel more comfortable on bikes, and have them be able to participate in riding on the bike pump track. - Katie Rasouli, Instructional Coordinator
