South Central Elementary is seeking support for the Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 10 Strider 14x AKB-Specific Bikes, 10 helmets, 10 pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
South Central School District Superintendent and Elementary School Principal, Jeremy Wollman, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. Mr. Wollman says, "The South Central School District is located in rural south central, South Dakota. Our goal is to foster physical activity for our students. The physical education teacher incorporates skills and activities that can help students live a healthy and active life. We would like to promote the lifelong skill of riding a bike and create opportunities for students to find a new and exciting physical activity to enjoy. The local EMT’s organize an annual BIKE RODEO each year teaching grades k-2 appropriate bike riding etiquette. Unfortunately, very few students have bikes of their own and most have never attempted to ride a bike. It is our belief that this program would encourage these students to develop an interest in riding and expand their healthy routines."
All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
