SHASTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Klamath Falls, OR
Shasta Elementary School is seeking support for a fleet of 30 bikes, helmets, kickstands, and curriculum.

"Klamath County School District is committed to the importance of Physical Education for all students. For the last 13 years certified physical education teachers have been employed in each of the ten Elementary schools in our district. At Shasta Elementary we have P.E. 25 minutes every day for every student.
Shasta Elementary school has had a bike program for our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students for the last five years. We have our own fleet and trailer of 40 bikes. Our most recent bike fleet are mountain bikes so that we can also utilize the many trails we have in our area. We have been able to provide each 4th grade student with a week of bike safety classes and our 6th grade students have used the bikes for several more advanced field trip rides. We have been able to offer an after school mountain biking club and triathlon clubs to our 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students as well.
Each year when we begin our bike unit for the older students there are several students who have never learned to ride a bike. As they get older this is a more difficult thing to overcome emotionally and physically. It would add much needed continuity to our program if we're able to begin using bikes with our students in kindergarten! Our students would be confident and able to join our program at a much younger age with the bikes we already have at our disposal. Our school would become a kindergarten through 6th grade BIKE school." -

A Pay It Forward random act of kindness. Anonymous. $1,200

Pay It Forward - Kindness and goodwill one to another through the freewill giving of significant random acts of kindness without the expectation of payback. These acts of goodwill are given to help as needed and also as seeds planted in hope that those receiving will be so influenced that they too will when able, join in paying it forward. One simple act of kindness could begin a continuing chain of random acts of kindness having the potential to spread exponentially through society helping to make the world a better place. Pay It Forward is without political, ethnic, religious, racial or language barriers. It can and does cross all borders!
