Papermill Creek Children's Corner is seeking support for a fleet of 18 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
Papermill Creek Children's Corner serves as one of West Marin’s primary providers of early school readiness and full-time childcare programs, enrolling children from 2 to 7 years old. Our students have access to high quality preschool education as well as early intervention services. Papermill’s child-focused activities are based on a holistic child development approach which addresses and foster all key aspects of a child’s life including the physical, intellectual, emotional, and relational. Many of our children who live at West Marin ranches don’t own a bike or get to ride a bike in their place of living. We strive to provide all children with an environment free of screen and technology, at Papermill children have ongoing opportunities to enjoy riding a bike, as well as gaining the skills to learn how to ride for pleasure. Papermill has experienced first hand the endless benefits bike riding can have in early childhood. Bike riding has helped us established healthy exercise and movement habits, for all the children enrolled in our program. The benefits of the use of bikes in our program have shown beneficial in the children’s learning development and mental health especially with children with different abilities. - Lourdes Romo, Executive Director
