North Lakeland School is seeking support for a fleet of 22 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
I am writing on behalf of North Lakeland School to request starter equipment and training for the All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program. I am the physical and health education teacher as well as the athletic director here at the school. The area our school serves is dedicated to making sure we have premium biking opportunities. With over 50 miles of paved bike trails through the wooded area(our school serves as a parking area for this trail), as well as multiple mountain biking opportunities, bike riding is in the heart of the community we serve. I would love to ensure the continuation of this passion by engaging our younger students to develop a love for biking that many of us share. North Lakeland school is a public school that bolsters an impressive outdoor education curriculum and I would love to add your program to our repertoire. As for myself, I am an IMBA certified mountain bike instructor and already share my passion with others by giving free mountain bike clinics to people who are interested in pursuing the sport at the WinMan trails in Manitowish Waters. I would love to add to my current knowledge with your programming and create a unit that would be dedicated to teaching our 4/5/6 year olds to learn to ride a bike. This funding would be so greatly appreciated and would give the opportunity for many kids to experience the wonderful biking culture that we can currently provide in the place we live. - Carl Karaffa
