Lakeview Elementary is seeking support for a fleet of 24 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
Lakeview Elementary School is a small neighborhood suburban school located south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Most of our students live within two miles of our school. We have several walking paths that lead to and from our school as well as sidewalks that make our school walking and bike friendly. We have 6 bike racks on campus and it is not unusual to see them all filled with bikes during the spring, summer and fall (even in the winter for some of our more hardcore students). I am an avid biker and am hoping to bring the love of biking to all of our students. There is no better way than to begin that mission in kindergarten and this program can help us make that happen.--Pete Otterson, Principal
