Lake Preston School District is seeking support for a fleet of 22 bikes, helmets, kickstands and curriculum.
Lake Preston School District strives to provide the very best education for all of the children who attend here. Unfortunately, with our small school district, the funds are limited when it comes to providing new opportunities for our students. The Kindergarten PE Program would allow us to implement a new curriculum dealing with balance and bike riding. We have a wonderful PE instructor who is excited about the prospect of teaching our children the skills of balance, rhythm, and conditioning all with these new instruments.
The bikes would be utilized within our preschool and Kindergarten physical education program and called "Lake Preston Diver Kids Learn to Ride". We have a diverse student body, with some families not able to afford bikes of their own. This program would allow them the opportunity to learn to ride within our school setting. The trickle-down effect would be that they would learn a love of this life-long exercise. - Kristi Curd, District Business Manager
