Hampden Elementary/ Middle School in Baltimore, MD is seeking support for a fleet of 24 bikes with kickstands, pedal conversion kits, helmets, teacher instruction bike, training, and curriculum.
My name is Moo Benyameen and I have been the physical education and health teacher at Hampden Elementary/Middle School for the past 5 years. I also am the co-chair of the school’s sustainability team. I have been fortunate enough to observe the health, wellness, and fitness levels of my students and school community improve, yet there is more that we can do to ensure that my students live healthful and active lives. One such directive is empowering my students, from 8th grade down to Kindergarten with the ability and motivation to be avid bike riders.
Hampden is a neighborhood school and the majority of students walk to school. Very few students ride a bike to school. I am hopeful that a partnership with the All Kids Bike Program will encourage a generation of bike riders in and around the community of Hampden EMS. This program will provide me with the necessary resources to educate and instruct my students properly in bike riding. - "Mr. Moo", PE Teacher
