Philip, SD
Haakon School District is seeking support for a fleet of 24 bikes, helmets, kickstands, and curriculum.

Thank you for the opportunity for the Philip Elementary School and Haakon School District to apply for the Strider Bike Grant. We are a small rural South Dakota community that has an average of 17-25 kids in each grade. A number of our students are ranch kids who do not always get the same opportunities as our students who live in town. This grant would allow all of our students to have the opportunity to learn to ride a bike in school. What a great deal that would be for all the kids.
Thank you again for the opportunity to be a part of this grant. The impact that it will have on our students and school would only be able to be measured by the smiles that I am sure the bikes would bring to the faces of the kids. - Jeff Rieckman, Superintendent, Haakon School District
