Frontier School of Innovation is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.

Principal, Lauren O'Connor is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon.
Lauren says: "
During the Pandemic I spent lots of time in zoom meetings just spending time with kids, talking to them about what they were up to while they were stuck at home. Something I noticed during our conversations was the large number of students who do not know how to ride a Bicycle. This stuck out to me because it is a passion for me and was a way that my two kids passed the time while we were stuck at home.

Through these lessons students will practice and hone their balance and control while starting, stopping and turning. They will be able to practice scanning around their environment in a safe and educational atmosphere. They will learn Bicycle safety that includes Road and street awareness and sign recognition.

Learning to ride a bike for a child will help build self-confidence and a feeling of accomplishment, balance, muscle strength, and cardio vascular fitness. Riding a bike is often that first real sense of freedom and accomplishment for many kids around the world and many of our students simply do not or have not had the opportunity to learn. We can change that!

This program allows FSI elementary the opportunity to give our students and parents something that many other schools do not have! This Curriculum will help our students to learn an important skill in life and the do it in a safe space with certified instructors. It will provide our students with a fun and new activity to their day and give students another positive reason to be at school. I believe that students and Parents will be equally excited about this program. This can be another tool that we can use to help draw new families to the FSI family."
