Fayetteville Elementary School
Sylacauga, AL
Fayetteville Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 30 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.

PE Teacher, Jon Thad Rogers, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon.
Jon says: "I'm currently the elementary physical education teacher at Fayetteville School in Sylacauga, Alabama. Our school is a K-12, rural, Title I school that serves approximately 650 students total. Our elementary program consists of students in grades preschool through sixth grade averaging forty students per grade level. Our physical education program focuses on motor skills, movement patterns, physical fitness, and personal and social behaviors through a variety of teaching units such as juggling, frisbee, wiffle ball, soccer, basketball, and tennis. In these units fine and gross motor skills such as striking, shooting, throwing and catching, and kicking are taught.

I am diligently looking to expand my teaching units in order to broaden my student's skill set. Being in a rural, Title I school, most of my students do not have access to physical education equipment outside of school. With the bicycles provided by All Kids Bike, some of my students would have access to a bicycle for the very first time. With these bicycles, the kindergarten class would have the opportunity to complete a month-long bicycle unit. In this unit I would address standards such as motor skills, movement patterns, speed and direction, and stability. I know the students would be so grateful and excited to have the opportunity to participate in this unit.

If chosen for this grant, the bicycles will not only be utilized by this year's classes, but for future classes to come. We sincerely hope you will consider our school for your program. We greatly appreciate your time and consideration for this opportunity."
