Edward R Andrews Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 22 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
PE Teacher, Kariane Busch, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. Karianesays:" Learning to ride a bike is an essential lifetime activity. We bring our 5th graders to a free local mountain biking program every year and have consistently had around 5 (or 10%) of kids who do not know how to ride. Being able to teach them at a younger age will give them the confidence and skills they need to enjoy that field trip as well as enjoy riding throughout their lifetime. Our community also has a free bike giveaway program for select students but often the bikes go unfulfilled due to their lack of ability to ride. By us teaching in school, we will be able to guide parents in showing them where in our community kids can ride safely. We have sidewalks and large blacktop areas at our school."
All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
