Eastridge Elementary School
Aurora, CO
Eastridge Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.

Anna Shaver, MOT, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist, Dr. Krista Welch, PT, DPT, Physical Therapist, and Ryan Lopez, PE teacher are excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. They've said "A strider bike curriculum would help to improve students' muscle strength, balance, cardiovascular endurance, body composition, bilateral coordination, sensory regulation, and visual motor skills.   It would extend beyond motor skill development to improve children's socialization, confidence, well being and focus for academic tasks outside of PE.  As you know, research supports the impact of physical activity on mental health. This would impact children’s lives in a population of children who may have limited access and exposure to this type of activity outside of school.

The impact of this program will be extremely positive and far reaching. Eastridge students will gain valuable skills and interactions on bikes while at school.  Our hope is that this will, in turn,  promote experiences for lifelong success.  We are hoping to implement the program by the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year."

All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.
