East Elmhurst Community School
East Elmhurst, NY
East Elmhurst Community School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 50 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.

PE Teacher, Kevin Lau, is excited to see kids rolling in the classroom soon. Kevin says:  "The physical education program at ps329q aims to provide inner-city students with the exposure and opportunities to grow and develop foundational locomotor skills to pursue lifelong fitness and recreational physical activity in middle and eventually high school.  We aim to achieve this through facilitating standards-based physical education lessons and partnerships with outside organizations to make the experiences memorable. We partner with many organizations and showcase our program frequently as seen on our website and P.E Twitter page. www.twitter.com/physicallitera3

Many of our families may face difficulty financially to provide a bike for their children, I truly believe this bike program will not only provide the experiences most of these children may miss but also be eye-opening in showing parents the importance of cycling in addition to physical activity. I plan on promoting All Kids Bike with Holly by helping her showcase this program in professional learning communities with other educations throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC. Too many schools have yet to learn about this, every school elementary P.E program in NYC should be on board!"

All Kids Bike┬« is a national movement led by the Strider┬« Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
