Eagle View Elementary is seeking support for a fleet of 30 bikes, helmets, kickstands, and curriculum.
I work at a neighborhood school where there are plenty of opportunities for students to ride bikes if they learned that skill. We are mostly free and reduced lunch, so some students don’t have access to even learn how to ride a bike let alone own one. Hopefully, through this program they will build up the love of riding. By bringing this program to my school I would be providing bike safety, pedestrian safety, and outdoor adventure to an urban community that doesn't spend much time outside. My goal is help students be more confident on bikes, want to spend more time outside, and eventually have the confidence to try more outdoor adventure activities. Bike riding is fun, social, a great form of transportation, and I think my students would benefit immensely. -- Shannon Carlisle, PE Teacher
