Dakota Prairie Elementary is seeking support for a fleet of 22 bikes, helmets, kickstands, and curriculum.
"At Dakota Prairie we strive to offer our students a quality Physical Education program with a variety of skills and activities to help them to lead a healthy and physically active life. I believe biking is a wonderful lifetime activity that every child should have the opportunity to learn. By adding biking to our curriculum, we would be able to offer yet another activity to expose children to in the hopes they would continue these activities later in life.
Learning to bike also builds student confidence and self-esteem. I feel like self-image and confidence are built at an early age. I also feel at a young age, students just aren’t afraid to fail and are more willing to try new things, as opposed to when they get older. Learning to bike would be another opportunity for students to build that confidence and self-image that are so important as we get older." -- Jason Hirrschoff, PE Teacher
