Carolina Voyager Charter School
Charleston, SC
Carolina Voyager Charter School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.

PE Teacher, Rachel Negrey, is excited to get her kids rolling in the classroom soon. Rachel says, "Our students come from all over Charleston via the Charleston county school choice program. Voyager students come from our downtown peninsula, rural James and John's islands, urban North Charleston, Mount Pleasant and rural Ravenel.

Many of our students do not have an opportunity to learn to ride a bike at home because of the unfortunate bike unfriendly design of our city. Charleston does have two beautiful multi use paths, active Charleston cycling groups and the advocacy group Palmetto Cycling Coalition who works tirelessly to improve biking in our community. Voyager believes that healthy habits start young. Empowering our students to learn biking will positively impact their personal growth and development, as well as the livability of our city in the future.

All Kids Bike┬« is a national movement led by the Strider┬« Education Foundation, Inc. to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.

We think riding a bike and being outside more are fundamentally important to being a kid and ultimately a better adult and appreciating the world. Happy to support this program and get kids on bikes early!
